The Passion of The Christ
Last year we gathered in a movie theater to watch The Passion of the Christ. After the movie, we spent time loving and worshiping Jesus before coming to the table of communion and receiving the Body and Blood of Jesus. The entire evening was special, pure, and beautiful with our community. We are excited to do it again this year and remember the passion of Jesus during Passion Week.
The passion of Jesus is a testimony that we must refuse to forget. Jesus was marred beyond any human being. It is in His stripes, His suffering, His agony, and His pain that we experience our victory. When we forget the testimony of Jesus, we reject the benefits of the Cross that He so beautifully paid for. He bore our griefs, carried our sorrows, was pierced for our transgressions, and crushed for our iniquities. To consider Him lightly is a sin, for Jesus is worthy of all our affection.
It is often hard to imagine the depth of His suffering and the reality of what our Lord endured. In this movie, we do not claim that every detail is completely accurate, but we believe it can help us better understand the weight of what Jesus carried on our behalf. He is most glorious, majestic, and beautiful.
